MATTOON, IL – July 30, 2021 – North American Lighting, Inc. (NAL) plans to open a new facility in Mattoon this fall to make room for additional business in its three existing Illinois production facilities.

NAL will relocate their service production lines from its plants in Flora, Salem and Paris, IL to this central location. The new facility will focus on the production of past model, lower volume replacement headlights and taillights.

“The Mattoon location met a number of critical criteria for NAL during our search,” stated Kirk Gadberry, NAL President and COO. “Mattoon has close proximity to our existing Illinois facilities as well as very close proximity to Interstate 57. Combining the building’s move-in ready condition with a county population base of over 50,000, the NAL team considered this to be a very easy decision to make.”

NAL will begin accepting job applications for the Mattoon facility in the coming weeks for September hire dates. The new facility will begin operations with 25-30 Team Members and continue to grow the workforce in the first year.

“We plan to relocate a few lines each month beginning in October 2021 until all lines have been moved by December 2022,” said Chris Kocher, NAL Director of Corporate Engineering. “We will need to add more Team Members each month to operate the newly transferred lines.  When complete, we will need 75-100 total Team Members to run at full capacity.”

Job opportunities will include Assembly Operators, Team Leaders, Material Handlers, Technicians and Shipping and Receiving Clerks. Interested candidates should apply online at www.nal.com. NAL also hopes to host a local job fair later this fall.

“If you are looking for immediate employment opportunities with a world class leader in the automotive industry, we also have openings available at our three Illinois locations with the ability to transfer to Mattoon when its operations begin in the fall,” said Amanda Martin, NAL Assistant General Manager of Corporate Human Resources.

NAL’s new facility is conveniently located on the north side of Mattoon in the Mattoon Enterprise park.

“We are excited for this chance to become an integral part of the Mattoon and Coles County economic landscape,” affirmed Greg Matthews, NAL Director of Manufacturing.
