Team Member Benefits
At NAL, we strive to be an Employer of Choice. With this vision, we are committed to supporting the safety and health of our Team Members and their families. Our health plan is ranked in the top 10% of all plans in the Midwest for manufacturing companies. NAL also offers a very competitive retirement plan. The benefits outlined below are only intended to highlight these major benefits and should not be relied upon as a complete or detailed explanation of our plans. Please contact our Human Resources Department for more information.
Medical & Pharmacy Benefits
For many of us, nothing is more important than the health of our family members. Therefore, we offer robust medical and pharmacy programs to our Team Members. We partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois for this coverage. Team Members have the option of choosing from various plan designs and costs that fit their family situation.
Virtual Visits: All three medical plans include benefits for virtual visits, a benefit that allows you to see and talk to a doctor from your mobile device or computer without an appointment.
Pharmacy Benefits: Prescription drug benefits are provided by Express Scripts with various options for auto-fill and home delivery.
NAL Health Clinic—Available only for Paris based Team Members
The Paris NAL Health Clinic is a primary care medical clinic for NAL Team Members and their families who are covered by NAL's health insurance. The clinic is a partnership with Horizon Health and is conveniently located across from Paris NAL facilities in the EZ Care building. The clinic provides medical services and common prescriptions for NAL Team Members and their families. For NAL Team Members enrolled in the Standard or Economy health plans, clinic visits and common generic prescriptions are free. There are no deductibles or co-pays. For those enrolled in the HDHP, fees do apply in order to comply with IRS codes related to HSA.
Dental & Vision Insurance
Dental coverage is provided through Delta Dental of Illinois. Delta Dental offers two networks: a Premier network and a PPO network. While the Premier network offers discounts, you will find the greatest discounts with providers who are under the PPO network.
Vision coverage is offered through Vision Service Plan (VSP). The Exam Plus Plan covers the cost of exams with a $10 copay. Team Members may also purchase coverage for themselves and their dependents under the Full-Service Plan. The Full-Service Plan covers both exams and materials (frames, lenses, contacts, etc.).
NAL Retirement Plan
North American Lighting partners with Principal Financial Group to offer retirement options and services to our eligible Team Members. Each month, NAL contributes an amount equal to 3% of your eligible earnings towards your retirement plan.
You may elect to save a percentage of your eligible earnings for your retirement by making pre-tax contributions to your retirement plan. All new and rehired Team Members are automatically enrolled to contribute 6% of their eligible earnings to the plan. If you wish to contribute a different percentage, you may change this election at any time by calling Principal or visiting their website.
NAL Paid Profit-Sharing Contributions
Each year, NAL may make a Profit-Sharing Contribution to your retirement account based on our performance for the previous year. If approved by the board, the contribution will equal a percentage of your eligible pay earned during the previous year.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
The flexible spending account program is administered by Chard Snyder. You may elect to make pre-tax contributions to the Health FSA in order to pay for your healthcare expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
A health savings account is an individually owned, tax-favored savings account that works in conjunction with your health plan coverage, if you enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan. This is administered through HSA Bank.
Basic Life Insurance & Supplemental Options
Term Life & Accidental Death/Dismemberment (AD&D) Benefits
NAL offers all full-time active Team Members with basic term life and a matching accidental death and dismemberment benefit of two times basic earnings or up to $350,000. This benefit is administered by Cigna at no cost.
Voluntary Life Insurance
If you would like to purchase supplementary life insurance for yourself, spouse and children in addition to your company paid benefits, NAL offers Team Members the ability to purchase voluntary life insurance at competitive group rates.
Critical Illness Coverage
Critical illnesses can be a major detriment to your income, health insurance expenses and daily living. Cigna's critical illness plan pays a lump sum directly to you for a variety of illnesses including heart attack, stroke, cancer, major organ failure, coma, paralysis, etc. This voluntary benefit can be a nice supplemental program to Team Member’s regular health coverage.
Voluntary accident coverage applies to non-work related accidents only. Team Members who elect to purchase accident coverage, receive a tax-free benefit to help offset unexpected expenses associated with an accident for you or covered family members.
Hospital Indemnity Coverage
Hospital Indemnity coverage pays a benefit when Team Members or covered dependents are admitted to the hospital for a covered stay. This voluntary coverage can complement the Team Member's health insurance to help pay for the costs associated with a hospital stay. It can also provide funds which can be used to help pay the out-of-pocket expenses the medical plan may not cover.
NAL Team Members can take advantage of supplier vehicle discounts provided by our customers including Toyota, Honda, Ford, Nissan, GM and Subaru. To take advantage of this opportunity, please see your local Human Resources department.
Paid Time Off
All eligible Team Members enjoy paid vacation days based on tenure with NAL.
All eligible Team Members enjoy ten paid company holidays.
NAL offers gym membership discounts. Please see your Human Resources department for additional details.
Transparency in Coverage
The departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury finalized the Transparency in Coverage rule that requires group health plans to post publicly machine-readable files that include in-network negotiated payment rates and historical out-of-network charges for covered items and services. You can access the following link to BlueCross BlueShield of IL’s site to locate the files that apply to NAL’s medical plan: https://www.bcbsil.com/asomrf?EIN=371131470
