(March 26, 2020) – NAL fully supports the government’s initiatives to “flatten the curve” in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. With the health and safety of our Team Members and their families in mind, NAL has been implementing as many telework accommodations for Team Members as possible. NAL has also taken the lead from our customers and has instituted various plant shut downs to help stop the spread (see March 20, 2020 Press Release for more information). NAL continues to monitor our customer’s evolving pandemic responses and will make decisions based on those production requirements.
NAL has also been actively monitoring the various federal, state and municipal orders in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. At the time of this statement, statewide orders include Illinois (COVID-19 EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 8), Indiana (Executive Order 20-08) and Michigan (Executive Order 2020-21) among others. As we have reviewed the above orders and supporting directives such as the MEMORANDUM ON IDENTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE published by the US Department of Homeland Security, NAL has determined that our operations meet the exception commonly set aside for Transportation and Logistics. NAL plays an important role in automotive manufacturing and repair and is part of the supply chain and logistics for the transportation industry.
Therefore, NAL will continue to support these efforts by producing the essential automotive lighting systems for vehicles used by consumers and emergency personnel alike. We will monitor and assess the production schedules for our customers and support their efforts during this time as well. Finally, NAL continues to support consumers with service parts as people continue to visit dealerships and automotive repair businesses for service and repair of their vehicles.
As circumstances continue to evolve in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, NAL is prepared to respond to the needs of the customers and communities that we serve. We will attempt to communicate as frequently as possible on this subject. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
